Manufactured 2019 Curator’s Notes St Louis Gueuze Lambic is part of the lambic range produced by Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck, better known for its Kasteel beers. The brewery’s decision to produce lambic-style beers outside the traditional Pajottenland heartland has always been an interesting part of the St Louis story.
This glass follows the established design language of lambic serving glasses: a simple straight-sided tumbler with a sturdy base and generous weight. The lower ribbed decoration adds both visual interest and a tactile quality, suggesting a glass designed to be held as much as displayed.
Unlike many Belgian beer glasses where the brewery branding dominates the design, the St Louis decoration is relatively understated. The glass is functional rather than theatrical, reflecting the character of the beer itself: a traditional style presented through the lens of a modern West Flanders brewery.
