Capacity 25cl Curator’s Notes A classic Kasteel goblet, with its broad, strongly contoured bowl, long stem and gold rim. The dominant decoration depicts Ingelmunster Castle, from which the Kasteel beer range takes its name.
Many Kasteel glasses feature an elaborate stem incorporating a moulded representation of the castle itself. This example is comparatively restrained, with a long plain stem leaving the colourful castle motif to do most of the work. The worn gold rim shows that it has seen some use, but otherwise the glass remains in excellent condition.
Bought for €1 at the same brocante as BBG012 Grimbergen, this was another early addition to the collection and, for me, another of the essentials of Belgian beer collecting.
