Vlezenbeek

Flanders

About this Place

Vlezenbeek is a village in the municipality of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, on the western edge of Brussels in the Pajottenland region of Flemish Brabant. The surrounding countryside forms part of the Senne Valley, an area internationally recognised as the historic heartland of traditional lambic brewing.

Although a quiet rural village, Vlezenbeek occupies an important place in Belgium's brewing heritage as the home of Lindemans Brewery. The brewery has been producing lambic here since 1822 and remains one of the country's leading family-owned brewers. For visitors interested in spontaneous fermentation and the distinctive beers of the Pajottenland, Vlezenbeek is an important destination and a natural companion to the Museum's Lindemans Brewery entry.

Visitor notes

Vlezenbeek is best visited in conjunction with Lindemans Brewery. Beyond the brewery, the village retains much of its rural Pajottenland character, making it an enjoyable stop when exploring the lambic breweries and countryside of the Senne Valley.
