About this Brewery

Brouwerij Lindemans is an independent family lambic brewery in Vlezenbeek, in the Pajottenland south-west of Brussels. Its story began in 1822, when Joos Frans Lindemans married Francisca Vandersmissen, daughter of the owners of the Hof ter Kwade Wegen farm. The couple began brewing lambic in the evenings and employed farm workers in the brewery during the quieter winter months. What began as a farm sideline soon became the family’s principal business.

Six generations of Lindemans brewers have continued the tradition of spontaneous fermentation, in which wild local yeasts ferment the beer. Its best-known beers include Faro, Kriek, Framboise, Pêcheresse, Cassis and the Tarot range. The historic Vlezenbeek brewery remains home to lambic production and maturation in oak foeders; a second, modern site opened in Ruisbroek in 2022 for mixed-fermentation beers and new developments.
