Curator’s Notes

A 20cl brewery tasting glass manufactured in 2025. Its elegant, relatively tall form has a gently rounded bowl tapering into a slender stem and simple circular foot.

The decoration is considerably less restrained. The front declares Enjoy the dynamic flavours of 6 generations of passionate brewing in no fewer than six different typefaces. It has something of the appearance of a designer presenting several possible fonts for consideration, only for somebody to approve all of them. The reverse removes any remaining ambiguity about provenance with prominent Van Steenberge brewery branding.

The reference to six generations is significant: the brewery traces its family brewing tradition back to 1784 and describes the present business as the product of six generations of brewers.
