Quenast
About this Place
Quenast is a village in Wallonia, best known for its famous porphyry quarries, which have shaped both the landscape and the local economy for generations. Since 1876 it has also been home to Brasserie Lefebvre, where six generations of the Lefebvre family have brewed beer inspired by both traditional Belgian styles and more modern creations.
Visitor notes
Quenast remains a working village rather than a major tourist destination, but beer enthusiasts will recognise it as the home of Brasserie Lefebvre and beers such as Barbãr, Hopus, Blanche de Bruxelles and Floreffe. The brewery offers guided tours by prior arrangement, providing an opportunity to discover both its long family history and its modern brewing techniques. While you're there, take a moment to appreciate the enormous porphyry quarries that helped shape both the village and the brewery's early success.
Dog-friendly
Dogs are welcome on public footpaths around Quenast and the surrounding countryside, provided they are kept on a lead where required. If you plan to visit the brewery, check its current policy before bringing your dog, as access arrangements may vary.
