Curator’s Notes

An unusually shaped glass designed specifically for Brasserie Lefebvre's Kriek. Strong red branding dominates the straight-sided upper section, with matching linear decoration around the bowl and the pronounced projecting band that separates it from the heavily textured lower section. The red detailing provides a natural visual echo of the beer's cherry character.

The lower section is particularly distinctive, with a dense moulded diamond texture on the outside of the glass. As well as providing an unusual tactile quality, it contrasts sharply with the smooth upper bowl. The glass is remarkably weighty for its relatively small size, adding to the sense of solidity.

Taken together — the heavy glass, geometric texture, strong horizontal lines and bold red graphics — the design has something of an early-20th-century industrial aesthetic.
