Achouffe

Wallonia

About this Place

Achouffe is a tiny hamlet in the Belgian Ardennes, best known as the home of Brasserie d'Achouffe. Since 1982, its distinctive gnome has become one of the most recognisable symbols of Belgian beer, attracting visitors from around the world to this otherwise peaceful corner of Wallonia.

Visitor notes

A visit to Achouffe centres on Brasserie d'Achouffe, where guided tours explain the brewing process before concluding with a tasting of the brewery's beers. The surrounding Ardennes also offer excellent walking and cycling, making Achouffe an enjoyable destination even beyond the brewery itself.

Dog-friendly

Dogs are welcome in the village and surrounding countryside when kept on a lead. They are not permitted inside the brewery, visitor centre or Auberge des Lutins, so check current visitor arrangements before travelling.
