Manufactured 2024 Curator’s Notes This 2023 Brasserie ZEC glass appears to be the brewery’s general house glass. Its tall, gently rounded bowl and short stem place it somewhere between a tulip and an ale glass, giving it a more elegant appearance than might be expected from such a small, local brewing operation.
The decoration is restrained but distinctive. A simple black oval contains the stylised ZEC logo, leaving most of the glass clear and allowing the shape itself to do much of the work.
Brasserie ZEC is based in the Saint-Hubert area, where hunting and the surrounding Ardennes landscape remain central to local identity. That connection gives beers such as La Chasse an obvious sense of place.
I bought the glass at a Luxembourg regional market in Brussels as part of a €20 gift pack containing four beers. The conversation at the stall took place mostly through imperfect French, enthusiasm and a fair amount of arm-waving. My attempt to explain that I had previously visited Saint-Hubert with my dog was rather less successful, but the welcome was extremely warm — and became warmer still when I produced cash.
