About this Brewery
Place: Saint-Hubert
Brasserie ZEC is a small artisanal brewing project based in the Saint-Hubert area. It was created by three Ardennais friends — Olivier, Maxime and Jean-Yves — brought together by a shared interest in beer.
Maxime and Jean-Yves had begun brewing independently in 2018, while Olivier had studied zythology from 2016. The three later completed IFAPME training in microbrewing, graduating in 2022.
Their early recipes were developed on a small 60–70 litre system in Maxime’s garden shed. From those beginnings the range expanded to include beers such as Triple Borquine, Saison Lumeçon and La Chasse, with a strong emphasis on the identity and culture of the Belgian Ardennes. ZEC continues to sell principally through local outlets and regional events while working towards developing larger brewing facilities in the Saint-Hubert area.
