Manufactured 2022 Curator’s Notes This Straffe Hendrik tasting glass was bought at Brouwerij De Halve Maan in Brugge.
Its rounded bowl, narrowing slightly towards the rim, places it closest to a tulip-style glass, though—as so often with Belgian beer glassware—it borrows freely from neighbouring forms. The short stem and broad foot give it a substantial feel despite its smaller tasting size.
The front carries the Straffe Hendrik name beneath a sombre half-moon motif, a direct visual reference to the brewery’s name, De Halve Maan. Manufacturer and capacity markings appear on the reverse.
The glass is used across the Straffe Hendrik range, including the brewery’s Tripel, Quadrupel and other stronger beers, as well as its annual Wild release. Its rounded bowl and slightly narrowed rim make it well suited to aromatic, higher-strength beers, concentrating aroma while still providing enough room for the beer to open up.
