Manufactured 2024 Curator’s Notes This is Brouwerij Boon’s classic lambic glass, bought directly from the brewery shop in Lembeek.
The form is a sturdy tumbler, with a thick base and pronounced vertical grooves moulded into the lower part of the glass. Like Cantillon’s traditional lambic glass, it feels deliberately substantial: practical glassware designed for a beer style with deep roots in the region.
The front carries the enamelled Gueuze Boon logo, with “Lembeek” beneath it, firmly tying the glass to the brewery’s home in the Senne Valley. Decoration is otherwise restrained.
A nucleation mark in the base provides a small functional detail, helping encourage a steady release of carbonation and maintain the beer’s head.
The glass is simple, but that simplicity suits Boon well. It reflects a brewery whose reputation rests on traditional lambic, gueuze and kriek, even as the business has expanded and diversified into other styles.
