Manufactured 2021 Curator’s Notes This generously sized goblet presents Tripel LeFort as a modern beer with a deliberately historic identity. The Tripel LeFort name dominates the bowl, accompanied by the 1854 reference that links the beer to the heritage of Brasserie LeFort, the Kortrijk brewery whose history is now preserved through the Omer Vander Ghinste brewing family.
The glass combines contemporary Belgian beer glass design with historic references. A sweeping decorative pattern circles the bowl, while the tapered stem leads down to a substantial foot embossed with “LeFort” and “1854”. The heritage of the original brewery is therefore not just part of the beer’s story; it is incorporated directly into the design of the glass.
Tripel LeFort is brewed by Brouwerij Omer Vander Ghinste, but the LeFort name reflects a deeper family connection. The original LeFort brewery dates from 1854, and its history became part of the Vander Ghinste family story in the early twentieth century. The modern beer and glass use that heritage to connect a contemporary tripel with a much older brewing tradition.
A substantial goblet for a strong Belgian beer, this glass demonstrates how Belgian breweries often use glassware not only to serve a beer, but also to tell its story.
