Explainers Curator’s Notes An elegant and substantial goblet made specifically for St-Feuillien Grand Cru. The bowl narrows neatly into a long, gently shaped stem before opening again into the broad foot, giving the glass an unusually graceful profile. The decoration is restrained: gold Grand Cru lettering, the small St-Feuillien emblem and a gold rim provide almost all of the colour.
This example has clearly lived a little. The gold rim shows noticeable wear and there is a substantial crack towards the rear of the bowl, something I failed completely to notice when I paid 50 cents for it at a brocante. Damaged or not, it was still a bargain and adds another distinctive St-Feuillien glass to the collection.
