Manufactured 2019 Curator’s Notes This thoughtfully designed flute-style Vedett glass is one of a set of six.
The inside of the fluted bowl has a subtle, almost checkerboard raised texture — an unusual form of nucleation that may help maintain the beer’s foamy head. It feels like a modern variation on the more familiar nucleated base found in many pilsner glasses. The short stem is ribbed, perhaps echoing another feature commonly found on pilsner glasses, although here it appears to be purely decorative. The simple foot closely mirrors the circumference of the rim.
The dominant logo is gently embossed, giving additional depth to the colourful branding. Each of the six glasses uses a different colour combination.
I acquired the set after an interactive tour of De Koninck Antwerp City Brewery in early 2026, before I’d started collecting Belgian beer glasses. I fully intended to use them for their intended purpose, rather than put them on display.
