Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve
About this Place
Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve in Walloon Brabant combines the older town of Ottignies with the purpose-built university city of Louvain-la-Neuve. Its beer story includes two very different ventures.
In Ottignies itself, Brasserie Ottintoise was a small family brewery founded in 2018 and operated from former farm buildings near the town centre. The company became inactive in 2023, leaving its surviving branded glassware as a record of a short-lived local brewery.
In Louvain-la-Neuve, Brasserie Dubuisson opened the first Brasse-Temps in 2000: a tavern and working microbrewery created to introduce students and visitors to Dubuisson beers. It was here that Cuvée des Trolls was first developed and brewed. Brasse-Temps therefore forms part of the wider Dubuisson story rather than representing a separate brewery in the Museum.
