Alken
About this Place
Alken is a municipality in Belgian Limburg. Its connection with beer is unusually direct: the brewery is a prominent presence in the town, and Cristal was launched here in 1928, when bottom-fermented beer was still technically unusual among Belgian brewers. The site became part of Alken-Maes in 1988 and today produces Cristal and Maes.
