Capacity 25cl Curator’s Notes This 25 cl Super des Fagnes glass is a broad, rounded pedestal goblet with a thick base and substantial feel. The bright red lettering frames a colourful countryside scene of trees, water, hills and wildlife, reinforcing the beer’s connection with the Fagnes landscape of southern Namur.
The glass belongs to an earlier chapter of the brewery’s identity. The Super des Fagnes name was shortened to Fagnes in 2017, and the brewery introduced a further visual redesign in 2021, so this older landscape-led branding no longer appears in the current range.
The most intriguing feature is the glass itself. Its shape is identical to BBG174, the De Garre house glass: the same rounded bowl, pedestal base, proportions and even the small trapped air bubble in the stem. What initially looked like a manufacturing imperfection on the De Garre glass now appears to be a recurring feature of the underlying glass form.
That comparison suggests that this distinctive shape was not unique to either brewery or bar, but an existing commercial glass design adopted by different Belgian beer brands and made their own through decoration.
