Manufactured 2021 Curator’s Notes This substantial goblet reflects the modern identity of Victoria, a Belgian strong blond beer created by AB InBev. The glass uses a deliberately distinctive presentation: a broad rounded bowl, elegant stem and bold black branding create a premium appearance rather than a simple everyday beer glass.
The Victoria wordmark uses a Gothic-inspired style, reinforcing the brand’s attempt to connect a relatively modern beer with the visual language of Belgian brewing tradition. The accompanying claim that the beer is made with “100% natural ingredients” is central to Victoria’s identity, alongside its emphasis on a traditional Belgian brewing process and bottle refermentation.
The stem carries the Victoria emblem, a sword passing through a shield with wing-like elements emerging below. This same symbol appears as part of the wider brand identity, linking the glass closely to the beer rather than simply functioning as generic brewery glassware. The same design appears as a nucleation mark in the base of the bowl.
Victoria is an interesting example of the distinction between brewery, brand and ownership. The glass belongs to the Victoria brand rather than an independent brewery, with the beer produced within the AB InBev brewing group. The brand’s story deliberately connects it to Brussels through its name and references to Saint Michael, the city’s patron saint, while its corporate home is part of AB InBev’s Belgian brewing network.
The result is a modern Belgian beer glass that borrows from the traditions of Belgian speciality beer presentation: a strong blond beer, a dedicated goblet and a carefully designed visual identity. It demonstrates that Belgian beer culture is not only preserved through historic breweries, but also recreated by newer brands using familiar symbols and styles.
