Curator’s Notes

This tall flute-style glass was designed for Bloesem Kriek, Brouwerij Kerkom’s sweet cherry beer. The elongated bowl is decorated with a striking combination of bright red cherries and restrained white blossom branches, with a solitary bird adding a small natural detail to the design. The cherry theme is deliberately clear: the fruit and blossom imagery leave little doubt about the character of the beer it was created to serve. The glass has a simple footed profile, with the narrow bowl creating an elegant silhouette. While the shape has some characteristics associated with ale glasses, the tall, slender form places it firmly within the flute style.

I bought this glass directly from Brouwerij Kerkom in August 2026 as part of a boxed set of the brewery’s bottled beers during my visit to the brewery.
