About this Brewery
Brouwerij Kerkom was founded in 1878 by Evarist Clerinx in the village of Kerkom, just outside Sint-Truiden. After closing in 1968, the brewery was revived in 1988 by Jean Clerinx, who restored brewing to the site and created the Bink range, now closely associated with the brewery.
Today, Brouwerij Kerkom remains rooted in its historic farm buildings, combining brewing with a substantial brasserie rather than functioning simply as a beer shop or tasting room. The brewery produces beers including Bink Blond, Bink Bruin, and Adelardus, with the surrounding buildings providing a welcoming setting for visitors.
A visit reveals a traditional Belgian brewery experience: enter through the old farm entrance into a courtyard surrounded by historic buildings, with a large restaurant, extensive outdoor seating and a clear focus on hospitality. The brewery shop is modest but offers gift packs and beers to take home. Dogs are welcomed outside, with water bowls provided.
Curator's Note
I visited Brouwerij Kerkom in August 2026 during a day exploring Sint-Truiden and the surrounding area. The brewery has the atmosphere of a traditional Flemish farm brewery. We enjoyed a very good lunch in the courtyard and can confirm that food is very much part of Kerkom’s identity — this is a place built around hospitality as much as brewing. The shop really is modest; I bought a glass and they handed me one straight from the bar shelf.
Dog-friendly
Dog's are welcome to visit and are even given their own bowl of liquid refreshment.
