Manufactured 2026 Curator’s Notes An imposing and unusually angular interpretation of the traditional Belgian abbey-beer goblet. The broad, sharply flared bowl gives the glass an almost Martini-like profile, while the simple substantial stem and broad foot retain distinctly chalice-like proportions.
Branding is remarkably restrained. Kapittel Watou dominates the front in muted silver-white lettering, while the reverse carries a small emblem depicting a goblet within a monastic-style frame. The glass is marked for both 25 cl and 33 cl measures and was manufactured in 2026.
Kapittel Watou is a family of bottle-conditioned abbey beers brewed by Leroy Breweries, ranging from Blond and Dubbel to the stronger Tripel Abt and Quadrupel Prior. This appears to be a range glass rather than one intended exclusively for a particular beer; it is classified here as Tripel as a representative style.
The glass entered the collection as a gift from a member of the Leroy brewing family during a visit to Ypres in May 2026.
