Les Brasseries de Flobecq

About this Brewery

Les Brasseries de Flobecq is a young independent brewery created by master brewer John-Christian Kavakure. Founded in 2018, it takes its plural name from the three historic breweries once found in the rural village of Flobecq: Loix, Voisin and Jouret. Kavakure, who was born in Burundi and trained as a brewing engineer in Belgium, set out to revive that local brewing identity with a range of organic beers. Although the company honours Flobecq, its production brewery opened in nearby Péruwelz in 2019. Its best-known beer is Flo58, an organic amber ale created for the sixtieth anniversary of Brussels’ Expo 58; the range also includes Yellow Flo and Red Flo.
