Brasserie John Martin S.A.

About this Brewery

Brasserie John Martin S.A. is the family company behind a wide range of Belgian beer brands and brewing sites. It was founded in Antwerp in 1909 by the Englishman John Martin, who introduced British beer traditions to Belgium through Martin’s Pale Ale and the distribution of Guinness. In 1924 he registered Gordon Scotch Ale, the beginning of today’s Gordon Finest Beers range.

Now led by his grandson Anthony Martin, the company combines brand ownership, brewing and distribution. It acquired the historic lambic brewery Timmermans in 1993 and has since developed or restored brewing sites for Waterloo and Bourgogne des Flandres. Its portfolio includes Gordon, Martin’s, Timmermans, Bourgogne des Flandres, Waterloo and Maredret, alongside imported beers. Individual brewery pages remain useful for those separate sites.
