About this Brewery

Place: Brussels

FOX is not a brewery, but a Brussels food market and hospitality venue whose own branded beer glassware makes it relevant to the Museum.

It occupies the ground floor and terrace of the former Royale Belge headquarters in Watermael-Boitsfort, a striking 1970 functionalist building designed by René Stapels and Pierre Dufau. After years standing empty, the building was repurposed, with Pascal Van Hamme and Thierry Goor transforming part of it into FOX with architect-designer Lionel Jadot and artist Cristina Gusano.

FOX also sits within a wider Brussels food-market story. Van Hamme and Goor had previously been involved in creating WOLF, but they left that venture in 2022; FOX, RATZ and Galerie Bortier are later, separate projects rather than part of the current WOLF business.

For the Museum, FOX is an interesting reminder that distinctive Belgian beer glasses are not always created for breweries alone. Bars, restaurants, food halls and other hospitality venues can commission or use branded glassware of their own, sometimes in partnership with established brewers.
