Brouwerij Roman

Brouwerij Roman is a family-owned brewery in Mater, near Oudenaarde, with a brewing history dating back to 1545. Now run by the fourteenth generation of the Roman family, it describes itself as Belgium’s oldest family brewery. After the Second World War, Romy Pils helped revive the brewery, before later generations developed a much broader range of Belgian beers. Today its beers include Roman Pils, Ename abbey beers, Adriaen Brouwer, Sloeber and Gentse Strop — the latter named after the famous nickname given to the people of Ghent.
