Bière des Amis

Bière des Amis is a Belgian beer brand rather than an independent brewery. Created by BDA International, based in Battice in the Pays de Herve, the brand was developed around a simple idea: beer as a shared experience between friends.

The beer is brewed by Brasserie des Légendes in Irchonwelz, a separate Belgian brewery already represented in the Museum. This relationship reflects a common feature of modern Belgian brewing, where brands, brewing expertise and locations do not always sit in the same place.

Launched in 2019, Bière des Amis combines a traditional Belgian blonde beer style with a distinctive presentation. The brand became particularly associated with its small 17 cl glass, designed to encourage sharing and conversation rather than individual consumption.

The range has expanded beyond the original blonde beer, but the central identity remains based on conviviality. The brand’s name, packaging and glassware all reinforce the idea that beer is part of a social occasion.

Bière des Amis is an interesting example of how Belgian beer culture continues to evolve. Not every Belgian beer story begins with a centuries-old brewery; some begin with a modern idea, a new brand identity and a partnership with an established brewer.
