Belgian Beer Box

About this Brewery

Belgian Beer Box was not a brewery or beer brand, but a Belgian subscription service created to introduce drinkers to a wider selection of the country’s beers. Founded in 2014 by Rémy Gierech, the business assembled changing selections of Belgian craft beers and delivered them to customers’ homes or collection points.

Each box contained beers from several different producers, accompanied by tasting notes intended to explain their styles and backgrounds. The concept formed part of a growing interest in curated beer subscriptions, allowing smaller and less familiar Belgian breweries to reach drinkers beyond their usual local markets.

Belgian Beer Box appears no longer to operate under its original name. Its branded glass nevertheless represents an interesting part of modern Belgian beer culture: the specialist retailers, subscription services and enthusiasts who helped consumers discover beers from many different breweries.
