Wieze

Flanders

About this Place

Wieze is a village in East Flanders, best known today for its annual beer festival and its place in Belgium's brewing history. Although it no longer has a major operating brewery, it retains connections with the region's rich brewing traditions and forms part of the Museum because of its association with the historic Brouwerij Van Roy.

Visitor notes

Visitors looking for active brewery tours and the famous Kwak, Tripel Karmeliet and Deus beers should instead head to nearby Buggenhout, where Brouwerij Bosteels continues to brew. Wieze itself offers a quieter glimpse of rural East Flanders and is easily combined with visits to Buggenhout, Aalst or Dendermonde.

Dog-friendly

Dogs are welcome in the village.
