Purnode

Region: Wallonia

About this Place

Purnode is a small village in the municipality of Yvoir, in the province of Namur, Wallonia. It sits in the Bocq valley, south of Namur and not far from Dinant, in a wooded and hilly part of the Meuse region.

The village is best known to beer visitors as the home of Brasserie du Bocq, which has brewed there since 1858 and remains one of the defining businesses in the village.

Purnode also sits in attractive walking country around the Bocq valley, which gives the village a stronger rural-tourism identity than its small size might suggest.
