Curator’s Notes

This substantial 33 cl goblet serves as a house glass for the St.Bernardus range rather than for any single beer. Its generous, almost balloon-like bowl sits on a short tapered stem and broad foot, giving it the solid proportions associated with many Belgian abbey-beer glasses.

Decoration is restrained: the St.Bernardus name and Watou appear in black Gothic lettering around the brewery's small red-and-gold crest. The simplicity suits a glass intended to accompany several very different beers rather than promote one particular brew.

Manufactured in 2023, this example came directly from the St.Bernardus brewery shop outside Watou during a visit in May 2026. The brewery, shop, restaurant and rooftop bar make the site considerably more than simply a place where the beer is produced.
