About this Brewery
Brasserie C (previously known as Brasserie de la Croix) is a family-run brewery and distillery in Beyne-Heusay, on the outskirts of Liège. It was established in 2014 by brothers-in-law Vincent Lacroix and Vincent Weytjens, turning a longstanding enthusiasm for home brewing into a professional enterprise.
The brewery produces top-fermented speciality beers, refermented in the bottle, under the Sainte Nitouche name. The mischievous brand draws upon the French expression “une sainte-nitouche”, meaning somebody who presents an appearance of exaggerated innocence while concealing a rather less innocent character. Its angel-and-devil imagery reflects that playful ambiguity.
The range includes Sainte Nitouche Triple, a powerful blonde beer of 9.5%, together with Blondinette, Blanche, Brunette and several fruit and seasonal beers. In 2019 the business expanded into distilling, initially creating Saint-Esprit from its Triple beer and subsequently adding gin, whisky and other spirits. Brewery visits and tastings are available by prior reservation.
