About this Brewery

Place: Poperinge

Brouwerij De Plukker was founded in Poperinge in 2010 by hop grower Joris Cambie and beer enthusiast Kris Langouche. The brewery grew directly out of Cambie’s hop farm: its equipment was installed in a farm building that had previously been used for picking and drying hops, giving the brewery an unusually close connection between hop growing and beer production.

De Plukker specialised in organic beer and made extensive use of hops grown on the farm itself. Its beers included Keikoppenbier, Rookop and Single Green Hop, while the name and “Hop Farm Brewery” identity reflected its roots in Poperinge’s hop-growing landscape.

The original Poperinge operation later came to an end. In 2023, De Plukker’s activities and beer range were taken over by Terrest Farm & Brewery in Houthulst, which continued the beers while retaining links with the original hop-growing operation and its organic identity.

Although De Plukker is therefore no longer brewed in Poperinge, the brand remains strongly associated with the town where it began and with the hop culture that shaped it.
