Belle-Vue

About this Brewery

Belle-Vue was founded in Brussels in 1913 by Philémon Vanden Stock, originally as a blender of lambic wort bought from local brewers. Under his son Constant, the company grew through the acquisition of several competing gueuze breweries and became one of the best-known names in Brussels lambic. Belle-Vue played an important role in making kriek, framboise and gueuze accessible to a much wider public, generally in a sweeter style than traditional lambics. The family sold the brewery to Interbrew in 1991; it subsequently became part of AB InBev. Brewing left the historic Molenbeek site and was transferred to Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, just outside Brussels.
